Management Comes From Within: Ikhil’s Story During the Covid‑19 period, many students faced disruption in their education, family life, and mental health. This is the story of Ikhil, a grade 9 student whose life was turned around not by expensive resources, but by simple self‑management. A Young Student in a Broken Situation Ikhil was in grade 9 when Covid‑19 hit. Over the last three years, he grew up without his mother at home. She had not passed away, but had gone to live with another person while his father was away for work. When schools decided to promote most students to grade 10, Ikhil was left in confusion. While others were upgraded, his status was not clear. He did not know whether he was moving forward or being left behind.
